By default, it includes only a few essential system apps — all open-source, minimal, and secure.

If you choose to install apps that depend on Google services (like Gmail, Google Maps, or YouTube), GrapheneOS automatically sandboxes them.
This means these apps are isolated from the system, restricted in what they can access, and cannot spy on the rest of your phone.

Even core Google components like Google Play Services, Google Play Store, and Google Services Framework are fully sandboxed — as clearly shown in the permissions dashboard.
